200 mg of plaquenil how long to work Does plaquenil suppress immune system further in an immunosuppressed person

Sep 05, 2016 I saw my rheumatologist yesterday, and he said the hair loss could be from taking Plaquenil. But he said it could be from getting older. Well, the hair loss started happening about six months after I began taking the Plaquenil and over a few months I lost 40% of my hair. So it is my opinion that the hair loss cause wasn't old age but the Plaquenil. But I was just gonna tell you that I was on Plaquenil for quite a while, it was not until I got off for about 4 months that I began to lose chunks of hair. So I did get back on the Plaquenil and got the hair and inflammation lined back out and then I tapered the plaquenil down to 200mg when I was originally on 400. For Rheumatoid Arthritis "I've been on a roller coaster for yrs w/Plaquenil for RA/Lupus. Hair loss and hair bleaching are both potential hydroxychloroquine side effects. Patients that experience sudden hair loss while taking hydroxychloroquine should report it to their doctor immediately. 4, 13, 18 From the community “I've been on hydroxychloroquine plaquenil for almost 6 years. My hair is thinner, but no bald spots. I have been on Plaquenil for 5 years. The horror stories you have heard are merely anecdotal, they are not findings of a scientific study. Some people like to be dramatic not you! and make up stories about their hardships. I take the Plaquenil and forget about it. The real horror would be if you didn't take it. Plaquenil can change the pigmentation in the skin, so it would stand to reason that it can do the same with hair. I have experienced the change in pigmentation on my legs. It looks like I have a huge bruise on the back of my leg which extends from the calf to the ankle. I call it a perma-bruise.
