I could not take a pill all at once, because my bp would drop too low. My doctor switched me to metoprolol several months ago. The nurse finally told me to break the pill in half and take half in the morning and half at night. I ended up eventually on Atenolol which I have taken for 6 years. When I filled my prescription this time, it was from a different mfg and I think I may be having problems with it as I just don't feel right. ALSO, my doctor prescribed 50 mg to be cut in half for my prescribed 25 mg dose. I take it in divided doses, as my bp or hr goes up or down. Does cutting this tablet in half compromise the time release? I took 2 different versions of metoprolol, Toprol (metoprolol tartrate) and Toprol XL (metoprolol succinate). Toprol made my symtoms worse but Toprol XL worked fairly well in controlling my conditions, PVC's and PSVT. The only thing that affected me was a slight feeling of dizziness at times and some mental fatigue. xanax for dogs uk If you have a heart attack, your doctor may give you metoprolol tartrate (Lopressor). Your doctor has handed you a prescription for Clomid, and you're eager to try this popular fertility drug treatment. Unless your insurance plan covers Clomid—and many don't—you may be concerned about the cost. Clomid is relatively inexpensive when compared to other fertility treatments, but it's obviously not free and may be more than you're used to paying for medication. By itself, the price of Clomid ranges from to 0, depending on dosage and if you're using generic or brand name. Most people have a pharmacy near their home or work that they prefer to use. But before you fill your prescription there, consider price shopping first. Since you don't usually take Clomid until after your next cycle begins, you should have extra time for the price shopping. Most psychiatrists are very wary about giving a patient supplements (sometimes referred to as “nutraceuticals”) with antidepressants for fear of negative interaction. In my books, I discuss both the ample research as well as my clinical experience that suggests how not only are some nutraceuticals safe to take with antidepressant medications, but they are actually very helpful too. Now, before we dive into this further, I do recommend if you are thinking of adding a supplement to your antidepressant regimen, talk to your prescribing doctor first, for it is important a practitioner knowledgeable of both medications and supplements is monitoring your care properly. While generally gentler and safer, just because a supplement is natural, it does always not mean it is the best choice. Ok, having said that, I wanted to talk about a new study on this exciting subject: authors from the University of Melbourne in Australia and Massachusetts General Hospital reviewed many studies that broached the use of nutraceuticals with antidepressant medications. Initially, they reviewed about 5500 studies, and looked for the most stringent studies. In these studies, the authors believed they found the most stringent and well-designed ones, and whose results were representative of good science (1).
